Southside Woodworks is a social enterprise that creates beautiful crafted goods, while providing sustainable employment for low-income residents of Asheville. When they started mapping out their business plan, they knew they needed a powerful brand and help telling their story. Working with Leanna Miller, we created a brand that not only had a bold strong look, but a voice that could be used to communicate their mission across all marketing efforts.
The logo was literally built out of boards, to represent the nature of their products. This flat black and white approach allows for the brand to be easily transferred into a variety of mediums, including burnt onto their wooden products.
The website design was a simple solution created on SquareSpace, which allowed for the start-up to remain budget conscious in the early stages of it’s development. Impactful imagery of the craftsmen and messaging is used throughout the site to communicate that they are mission focused, working to better the community.
